All around the world children and adults are being abused. There are many ways of being abused. Some of them are, sexually, physically, emotionally, digital and perhaps stalking.

There are also multiple side effects of being sexually or physically abused. The most common ones are, alcohol, drug use, domestic violence, parenting skills and depression.

There are some websites to help people get through being abused or there are centers or maybe just going to therapy. When a person is being abused as a kid it can effect them through adult hood. There is this website called "child help", you can call a kid if they are being abused or if you need to talk to a counselor and etc.

People should stop this child abuse, it's not good for their health, it doesn't teach them anything once you're done hitting them. They can go into deep depression and god knows what they will do. Parents are supposed to show kids love and teach them what's wrong and what's right. Not abusing them and showing them that hitting other people is right.

Researchers say that 28.3% of adults reporting of being physically abused as a child. 20.7% of people report of being sexually abused as a child. And 10.7% adults report of being abused as a child. Physical abuse and sexual abuse are probably the most commons ones right now.

                                        Standards based reporting

At Heritage middle school they started a new standards based reporting system on August 24th 2015.  Instead of A's, B's, C's and F's they started doing 1,2,3 and 4. 1 is for you're not really getting it, 2 is you got it but need a little more practice, 3 is for you know it perfectly, and 4 is for you can go above and beyond. District 100 started doing this,  while other districts are still doing the original A's, B's, and C's.
While A's, B's, C's a d F's are just grading the points that you get on each assignment. While the standards based reporting system helps kids move on to the next level and it's not grading on how many points you get on each assignments. The new system will help kids and let them know what they need to work on or what they are really good at. And  it will not matter on each point you get.

                                                                    The vacation

My mom and my uncle were planning this vacation to Florida. They started planning it in June to go in the beginning of August. The first thing that they looked into is to where we were going exactly. One of the places we were going to was key west in florida. And they had a lot of bridges to get there. They had this one 7 mile bridge and I literally thought i was going to die because the bridge was so small. My mom and uncle were looking at the hotels and where to start going first. They didn't want to make the reservation online because we might make a different plan and we can't get a refund. After looking at the map my my mom looked into renting a car for the trip because our car wouldn't last the whole way there. And driving everywhere. We were planning on staying there in Florida 12 weeks.
it's already July 30th. We went to the Toyota place to get the car and we took it home and started packing. We were supposed to leave at 4 in the morning but my aunt and uncle were still sleeping and they didn't answer the phone so we went back to sleep and woke up at 6:00. My step dad and my brother were loading the car while me and my mom were down stairs saying bye to my grandparents. After saying bye we left to my uncles house. When we got there they were still loading the car. We got off the car and started helping them. It was kind of funny when my cousin came out because she was wearing winter boots and we all just started laughing because it was so hot outside and she was wearing those, She laughed along with us too. Once everything was set we started driving. We were already driving for hours. We stopped In Atlanta to have dinner. We stopped at this rib place called "Fat matts.", it was good they had a little band playing, but the restaurant was kind of small. When I had to go to the bathroom they didn't have "women" or "men" on the doors they had these weird names on them, so I had to ask which was which and it was kind of embarrassing. Once we were done eating we stopped at a rest area because my uncle can't drive at night. We were trying to get comfortable it was just not working... and my back hurt the next day. The next morning I got my tooth brush and I went to go brush my teeth in the bathroom. Once everybody was done brushing their teeth we got on the road again. We drove that night and went to another rest area. And started hitting the road at 6:00 in the morning.
We got to another part of Florida called Siesta keys. We got there  at 12:00. We were waiting in the lobby for the cart to help take our bags up stairs. We got up stairs and changed into our swim suits to go to the beach. There was no sun out it was just really and the waves were huge. it had just finished raining but it was fun anyway. We went back to the hotel to shower and changed. We went to go have dinner. After dinner we went back to the hotel and went to sleep. The next day we started to hit the road like at 8:00. We started driving to key west. And my mom is terrified of bridges and a lot of water. On the way there there were a lot of bridges and she was the one driving, she said she wanted to drive, because if she wasn't she would have been more scared. We finally got to the 7 mile bridge. This bridge is the bridge to actually get to key west, It's a long skinny bridge. My heart was beating so fast it felt like my heart was going to come out of my chest because I was so scared that we might fall . We finally got there and we drove around to find the hotel we were going staying in. We parked and I got out of the car, it was still raining but everything looked so beautiful. It was raining when we got there so we were getting wet while putting the bags onto the cart. The guy who was helping us took us to our room. When were done getting settled in my went outside and the sun came back out. We walked around to stores and to see what was around. I bought this book, it's called "the ghosts of key west". I was going to get this other about this doll, it was kinda like a voodoo doll. But I got this one because it looked more interesting. After looking at stores we had dinner and went back to the hotel to sleep.
The next morning we changed into our swim suits and look to see if we could go snorkeling. After paying for it we went on the boat and started heading farther away from the island. Since me and my mom can't swim we were a little scared. The life guard told us "if you can not swim don't jump of the side" and Diego can't swim and he jumped of the side and he almost drowned because he started panicking. Everybody else got in the water except for me, my mom, my uncle and my aunt. My uncle got in and he saw the jelly fish and he got scared so he got out. I didn't want to get in because I can't swim and I didn't want to get stung. And it was jelly fish season and there is a lot of jelly fish. But I still had fun even though I didn't get in the water. We got out of the boat and started walking back to the hotel so everybody can change. We walked around to see a good place to eat because it was already getting dark. We stood in key west for about 4 days. After key west we started driving to Orlando. We went to universal studios the two days we were there. After Orlando we went to cocoa beach. We stood there for one day. We went to the beach and started surfing. The next day we started driving to Pensacola beach. We stayed in Pensacola for two days. My step dad wanted to keep driving but my uncle wanted to stay because when we went to the beach we didn't get to have a good time and he wanted us to swim in the hotel pool. He was having a long time deciding because it was gonna be $300 a night and after a while he said yes. The hotel was huge, they had an indoor and and outdoor pool. We went to the room to change and went to the outdoor pool. After swimming for a couple hours we went to our hotel rooms and took showers and went to eat. We stopped at hooters and took food to go. We  ate the food in the hotel room. While eating we were watching tv. We were watching this show about these group of people on an island looking for gold, it was actually pretty interesting. When we were done eating we went to sleep. The next morning we woke up early then we put everything in our bags and went to the store a cross the street to get some souvenirs. When we were done we left and started going towards Chicago.
A couple hours later we stopped at a gas station to use the bathroom. My mom and my step dad decided that they wanted to stop in Indiana at my step dads sisters ranch. And I was kind of excited because they have 4 wheelers and they are so much fun to ride. My aunt and uncle had to go back to Chicago because my aunts great grandfather was really sick so she had to go be with him for his last couple of days. While we were driving they exited and we kept driving straight. We got here 4 hours later. It was around 2:00. We went inside and said "'Hi" to everybody, and we unloaded our car and put some bags inside. My mom and step dad were talking to my steps dads sister and me and Diego went to watch tv in the living room. We were waiting for my step cousins to get home because they already had started school. They had just gotten home and it was already 3:30 we talked for a but and went outside and rode the 4 wheelers. They have two but they lost the keys to the other 4 wheeler so we all had to share one. First my step cousin drove it then I drove. I hadn't been there in a while so I haven't driven a 4 wheeler In a while so I had to get the hang of it again. We were there for the rest of the week.
It's already Sunday now. We said bye and started driving to Chicago. We got to Chicago a couple hours later. The same uncle that went to Florida was having a BBQ on his block so he invited us. Most of my family went. There was animals and loud music, it was fun. Later that night we went home and unloaded the car and went to sleep. The next morning we unpacked everything and cleaned... This whole trip was really fun, and I'm glad that I got to spend it with my family.
