First love

First love is written by James Patterson and Emely Raymond. In this book a girl runs away. Her name is Axi. She goes on a round the world trip to get away from the problems and stress she has. But she only wants to do it with one person, her best friends Robinson. Her mom left, her sister died and her dad's a drunk. She's tired of everything and just wants to get away from her little neighborhood. She's been plannin on leaving for a while. She saved up her babysitting money she's been saving for 2 years. She tells Robinson about her plan and says that he going with her. After a while he thought she was crazy, but then agreed. Axi was planned on going on a bus, but Robinson said he had a better idea. He wanted Axi and him to have the best time of their lives. So why not break a little rules? They stole a morticycle and left. Later, they leave the motorcycle and steal a car. Through out the book, Axi starts to have feeling for Robinson that she's never felt before. And she wonders if he feels the same. On page 21 it says, "I threw up my hands. "Last I checked, we don't have a private get, Robinson." "Who said anything about a plane? We are going to take a car, you dope," he said. He leaned back in the booth and crossed his hands behind his head, totally smooth and non-chalant. "And I mean take one." Instead of taking the bus they steal cars and morticycles. Robinson wants this trip to be the best time of her life. I think what's going to happen through out the book is that they are both going to eventually have feeling for one another and the whole trip is going to change from the original plans. On page 46 It says, he reached out and brushed a piece of hair from my forehead. I held my breath. Suddenly I understand that running away was all the thrill I could stand today. If Robinson touched any other part of me, I might explode into a million pieces. But he didn't touch me again. He smiled. "Sweet dreams, Axi Moore," he said softly. Then he rolled back over. Inside I ached a little, I wasn't sure what for. This detail is important because she's probably starting to develop feelings for Robinson but doesn't know it yet.

Comparing and Contrasting

The two books that i'm comparing are, "The start of me and you" and the book "First love". These two books are very similar because they are both kind of about romance but also about trying something new. In the book "The start of me and you", Paige (main character) wants to try new things before the end of the school year. Through out the book Paige falls in love with her boy best friend, Max. But little does she know that he fell in love with her the first day he saw her. In the book First love, The main character Axi wants to try something new and runaway, but she wants to do it with her best friend Robinson. She wants them both to travel the world together. But through out their journey she starts to have these feeling for him that shes never noticed before. These books are similar because they are both about romance and they both have to do with trying something new and falling for their best friend without even knowing it. The difference is that in the book "first love", they go travel the world together and in the book "The start of me and you", Paige wants to start new things but they are simple that a normal teenager would do but Paige is kind of an outsider. Also in both books they lose someone very important to them. In "fist love" Axi losing her sister and in "The start of me and you", Paige loses her boyfriend. The difference is that with Paige it gave more affect and it was hard to recover from. And Axi she was used to everyone leaving her including her mother.
